Choosing the Best Dining Chairs for Your Restaurant
Written by Laure E. Cargile
What is the most important component of any restaurant? The food? That's a given but in most cases, the most vital part of a restaurant is the chair. The dining chairs are the pieces of furniture where your customers will be spending most of their time on. And for your restaurant to be a success, not only should the food be great, but also the furniture on which they will be dining.
No two dining chairs are alike. As there are many options on the menu, so too are there are many choices in chairs.
1. Think of the color.
A restaurant will survive if it gets the right color combination that in turn contributes to the ambience the whole business is trying to convey. Try to match your chairs' colors to the other main colors of the whole dining area.
2. Think of the style.
A wooden, antique style chair may not fit well in a restaurant catering to the young, hip and the trendy.
3. Think of the material.
Wood is usually great for cafes and fine dining. Plastics for common diner. Metal chairs are perfect for an outdoor setup where it will be most vulnerable to the elements.
4. Think of your clients.
Finally, you should put into consideration the taste of your clients. Try to think like them and visualize how they would react when they see your chairs for the first time. Would they think it's perfect for the restaurant or would they think that they are completely out of place. A small survey or a small group of potential customers can help you decide on this.
