Learning About the Folding Chair

In the history of all the chairs, perhaps nothing is more versatile and more often used than the humble yet ubiquitous folding chair. Name a place and you are more likely to find it there than any type of chair: gymnasium, coffee shop, concert hall, conference rooms, stadiums and so many more. Even restaurants have them as a standby in case they run short of their usual chairs.

What makes the folding chair such a perennial favorite? Let's look at some of its features.

1. Stackability
Perhaps this is the most important feature of a folding chair. You can easily stack dozens or even hundreds of this chair in a room, in a warehouse, or even at the back of the building.

2. Portability
This chair is built to be easily carried from one area to another. It is generally lighter and a person can usually carry at least two chairs at the same time. This saves a lot of time and effort when a series of chairs needs to be quickly set up to hold any event.

3. Comfortability
Surprisingly, most of these chairs are comfortable enough to sit on, despite usual lack of cushion and a high back rest and even an arm rest.

4. Built to last
These chairs are made of sturdy materials, either metal or hard plastics. There are also wooden variations but the first two are the most common especially in party venues and offices. These chairs can easily carry a person of any weight and of any size, providing comfort for all levels.
